May progress report
This month was mainly about writing events that progress on a horizontal axis, and the main scenario that progresses on a vertical axis did not progress very much. Therefore, I was unable to release an update this month.
The amount of text for the event scenario that progresses on a horizontal axis is really huge, and I was pulling out various documents, searching around, and reading them... As a result, my thoughts temporarily stalled. Due to this reason, I took a short break around the middle of this month.
Er... There were so many branching events to begin with. I also had to check whether the branching was having a negative effect on the consistency of the story, so the more branches there were, the slower the main scenario progressed.
While a significant amount of new events were added to the game this month, there was not enough progress in the main scenario to be able to release an update. So the new version will be postponed until next month.
As summer approaches, I write a scenario set in the middle of winter.
In the main scenario I am currently writing, we are entering the first winter in the game's scenarios. The background image has also changed, and the cat frequently tries to sneak into Ranjarma's bed, saying `It's cold, warm meow up, let's sleep together meow!` (Ranjarma doesn't respond because she has a cold personality).
And winter is a season of stillness. The dangerous apparitions are temporarily quiet, and a brief lull comes. So I am currently writing a scenario with a calm but cool atmosphere.
It's more like a code word than a written expression of a dialect.
WoY-R already has dialects such as 「Yordom's English (the accent of northern elves living in the countryside: in Japanese it is expressed as a pseudo-Tsugaru dialect, the English version has the image of an Australian accent)」 and 「Pahnuy's English (super meow-meowing)」, but new dialects have been added.
They are 「Chymillust dialect (the accent of dwarves in the Chymillust region: in Japanese it is expressed as a pseudo-Okinawa dialect, the English version feels more like a representation of `English sounds` rather than English sentences)」 and 「Nemsa's English (the accent of western elves living in remote rural areas: in Japanese it is expressed as a pseudo-Kansai dialect, the English version has the image of `Prejudices Americans might have about the British accent`)」.
The lines in the English version is as shown in the screenshot. In this scene, both are actually speaking the same thing.
That's all for this month, see you!
Now that the horizontal events have come to an end, I will move on to writing the main scenario. Next month, I plan to release a version where you can play the first winter to the end.
