March progress report
I released [α: ver0010] in the middle of this month, and development has progressed significantly since then. Specifically, I wrote a scenario with a play time of about an hour and a half. This means that the pace of development has accelerated to that extent.
However, I can't reveal any details because it would be spoilers, but the story has progressed up to the point below.
The story has now reached Chapter 9, and the overall atmosphere has changed considerably. However, King Gathelzence has not yet appeared. Meoooooooooooow!!!

Trivia Revealed: About the elf ears.
I can't go into detail about the story, so instead I'll reveal some totally irrelevant trivia. The theme is elf ears.
Four races of elves appear in WoY-R. Western Elves have long ears, Southern Elves have super long ears, Eastern Elves have short ears with pointy tips, and Northern Elves have short ears with forked tips. These are the four types of elves in WoY-R.
Regarding the elf ears that appear in WoY-R, as I wrote in a previous article, they are based on animals.
The motif for Northern Elves is the Polar bear (wild and warlike), Eastern Elves is the Amami rabbit (laid back, but surprisingly sharp claws), Southern Elves is the Fennec fox (sociable and moves in large groups), and Western Elves is the European rabbit (quick to run and stubborn). These animals are the motifs for each race.
And the direction an elf's ears are pointing determines their personality tendencies.
That said, the ears in character portraits and illustrations for event scenes tend to be drawn without much thought, so the illustrations implemented in the game don't necessarily follow this rule! It's like background setting, so just take it as a reference...
Personality tendencies based on the direction of the tips of the ears when viewed from the front.
You can tell how talkative an elf is by looking at the direction of their ears when viewed from the front.
- Elves with `upturned` ears when viewed from the front are talkative. The more the ears point upwards, the more talkative they are. In addition, they don't listen to what people say at all.
Halisajazd, who talks like a machine gun, King Gathelzence, and Queen Yemuriscend are examples of `upturned ears`.
Also, Hezatwand seems like a quiet character but she's not (she's always nagging), so she has slightly upturned ears. - Elves with ears that point `horizontally` when viewed from the front are moderately talkative. In other words, normal. These are the general ears. Most elves, including Luhzelluand and Deelan, fall into this category.
- Elves with ears that are `downturned` when viewed from the front are not very talkative and tend to be listeners. The further down the ears hang, the more reticent they are, and the narrower their range of emotional expression becomes.
For example, Laduiagoth's ears are a little downturned. In fact, Laduiagoth appears frequently in the scenario, but ze doesn't say much. Ze is also the character with the highest rate of `…………` in zir lines. And, Mesakyne's ears are also downturned. She is the type of person who became very talkative later in life, and was originally quite shy and silent.
In addition, the character with the most downturned ears in the game is Gezulzence. He is really the complete opposite of his father, Gathelzence.
Personality tendencies based on how far the ears are from the sides of the head.
How far away from the sides of an elf's head their ears are will tell you how cooperative they are.
- Elves with ear tips very close to the sides of the head are not very cooperative. They are also aggressive.
They say what they want to say without hesitation, and they do what they want to do the way they want to do it. In short, they are stubborn. To put it in a metaphor, they are like a supersonic aircraft with reduced air resistance to the limit. They run alone at a speed that those around them cannot stop them.
Halisajazd, who talks like a machine gun, is a typical example of this. Other examples include Queen Yemuriscend, Queen Iguelizand, and Mesakyne. - Elves with normal, natural ears are average and moderately cooperative. This includes most of the characters, including Geltdalath.
- Elves with ear tips far away from the sides of the head and ears facing forward tend to force others to cooperate, or to yell, `Obey me!`
They are good at increasing unspoken agreements, laws, etiquette, and manners, and they try to adhere to them. They are the embodiment of a wall that stands in the way.
A typical example is Frhoidhanath, and Gathelzence. Deelan also falls into this category.
That's all for this month, see you!
I'm starting to run out of trivia to reveal to the public......
